Hire an (Escape) Artist

Looking for an artist, writer, or podcast guest? I am also a freelancer in all of these areas.

As an artist, I have a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Arts, and I specialize in drawing and painting. I was a marketing intern and lead at San Diego State University‘s Cross Cultural Center and Associated Students’s Business Office for 4 years. Along with those things, I have served as a visual editor for the Ryukyu Star Magazine for 3 years and contributed countless digital art and covers to it. While I worked as an English teacher in Japan, I created many illustrations and marketing materials for Japanese junior and senior high schools (5 years). I went on to become an in-house graphic artist and communications leads for a department in MiraCosta College.

You can commission me or hire me for art projects, branding materials, event setups, and creative consulting through Black Bear Cat Press.com.

As a writer, I have been a reviewer, manga editor, and editor-in-chief at Anime3000 for 5 years as well as the visual editor and copy editor for the Ryukyu Star Magazine for 3 years. I have also won or been shortlisted several contests for short stories including the 2014 Little Tokyo Historical Society Short Story Contest and 2013 A.B. Betancourt Science Fiction Short Story Contest. My work has been featured on BlerdsOnline, The Vortex, Blog of the Hawk, and The Ends Don’t Tie with Bunny Rabbits.

Need a podcaster knowledgeable about anime, manga, games, Japan, Japanese writers and art, books, or graphic novels? Please email me at JeridelBanks [at] yahoo [dot] com. I’ve hosted the Manga Corner on Anime3000 for 3 years. I don’t charge anything for this service because I love talking about these things.

I look forward to hearing from you!
