The Escape!

After I graduated from college, I told everyone I was going to Japan. “Sounds like you’re escaping,” one of my friends said. “But for you, that’s a good thing.” At that time, I never thought “escaping” was considered “good”, but she changed my mind. Maybe it had something to do with my intense love of Japan through manga, anime, books, and a brief homestay in Kanagawa Prefecture.

Jade’s Escape is my journey from being a Japanese culture admirer to a manga industry professional. I post mostly about manga and books, and occasionally, I write about anime, video games, and other things of Japan origin.

I am also a freelance writer and artist with a combined Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Physical Therapy and Studio Arts. You might hear me rant about some stuff that relate to my time in college, especially my time in Japanese Art History, Anatomy, and Life Drawing.
